Why accessories beat single-use packaging
Cardboard boxes and disposable crating are a recurring cost and a recurring waste stream. A collar-and-cap system is bought once and used for years — fold it flat between trips, stack it for storage, and swap out only the piece that wears. That's cheaper per shipment and keeps material out of the landfill, which is the whole reason our yard exists.

What is a pallet collar and why use one?
A pallet collar is a hinged, four-sided wooden frame that sits on a standard pallet to create walls, turning a flat deck into an open-topped box. Collars fold flat when empty, stack to build height as you fill, and let you contain loose or stackable goods without buying a full crate. They're one of the most reusable, space-saving accessories in the yard.
Can I reuse accessories, or are they one-trip?
Reuse is the whole point. Collars, lids, top caps and bins are built to fold, stack and return trip after trip — that's what makes an accessory system cheaper than disposable packaging over time. We also buy back and recycle worn accessories through our recycling service.
Do collars fit a standard 48×40 pallet?
Yes — the most common collars are sized for the 48×40 GMA footprint, and they stack so you can build the wall height your load needs. We also source and build collars for other footprints; tell us your pallet size and we'll match it.
What's the difference between a top cap and a lid?
A lid closes the top of a collared stack like a box lid. A top cap (or top frame) is a flat cover that protects the load and gives you a stable surface to stack another unit on top — useful for double-stacking in racking or transit. Many operations use both.
How much do pallet accessories cost?

Match the accessory to the pallet
An accessory system only works if the parts nest. The rule of thumb: match the footprint. Standard collars, caps and lids are sized for the 48×40 GMA, so if that's your base pallet everything drops on cleanly. Run a different size and we'll source or build matching accessories so nothing overhangs or gaps.

How many collars can I stack on one pallet?
As many as your load height and stability allow — that's the beauty of the system. Each collar adds a fixed band of wall height, so you build up layer by layer as you fill, then fold the empties flat for the return trip. For tall stacks, cap the top and mind your load's center of gravity; we can advise on a safe height for your goods.
Will accessories fit pallets I already own?
Most likely. Standard collars, caps and lids are sized to the 48×40 GMA footprint, which is what the majority of operations already run. If your pallets are a different size, tell us the footprint and we'll source or build matching accessories so everything nests cleanly.
What's the difference between a skid and a pallet?
A skid has only a top deck on runners — no bottom deck — so it slides and takes drag-loading well, and it's common under heavy machinery or for one-way heavy freight. A pallet has both a top and bottom deck for stacking and racking stability. We stock and build both; the right one depends on whether you need to stack and rack, or drag and set down.
Do you sell corner boards and strapping for load stability?
Yes. Corner boards (edge protectors) guard your product edges and let banding tension without crushing the load, and we carry the strap, buckle and stretch-film hardware to unitize a stack safely. They're inexpensive insurance against transit damage and forklift dings — bundle them onto a pallet or collar order.
